TransAdvocates is an alliance of like-minded people.
We aim to increase trans presence and influence through advocacy and lobbying.

TransCafe is the social arm of TransAdvocates, where like minded people can come together, share food and build our communities.  Through building our communities we will become a stronger advocating voice for trans people.  For more information about TransCafe, please click here.

 

TransAdvocates specialises in:

Helping trans people to change the gender on their birth certificate, and in obtaining a Declaration as to Sex from the New Zealand Family Court.

Help us lobby our MP’s for legislative change.  We fully support the clarification of the New Zealand Human Rights Act in terms of gender identity, as is recommended by the Human Rights Commission.

 

We also support the global trans movement, and will look at ways we can all help out.

Currently there is a global petition to remove transgender from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
